I have privileges set up with ACD, Random House, Augsburg Fortress, Studio 2 Publishing, and Troll Lord Games so far, and I don’t shy away from the paperwork involved in setting up a new one.

Most recently, I ordered the book The Ten Faces of Innovation by Tom Kelley for the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce. Since they bought the books in bulk (20 is big enough for me) I was able to give them the price of $20 per book. It’s normally $29.95 and available at Amazon for $19.77 (right now), and I absorb the shipping costs. That’s an amazing book, by the way. I got a lot of creative ideas for my business just by reading it.

Just as another example, I also ordered the book Raising Faithful Children in a Fragmented World for a bible study I’m running at my church. Took some of the pressure off the church to handle the money, and they couldn’t get it any cheaper than I could as a retailer. I charged $5 per book, which is $6.99 through Augburg Fortress.
