Happy Birthday, Robot!

Happy Birthday, Robot! is a storytelling game for families and classrooms. Players take turns writing the story of Robot’s birthday.

You never know how many words you’ll get to write. How much can you say in four words? How much can your friends add in just three?

What will Robot’s birthday be like? Will Robot meet new friends? Go to outer space? You decide, one roll at a time!

This book contains the complete rules for how to play. Requires 10-15 dice, 20 coins, a notebook, and a pencil or pen.

3-5 Players * 30-45 Minutes * Ages 10+

Jodi’s notes:

I haven’t had a chance to try this out with my kids yet, but I can’t wait to show it to the teachers! Hmm… Christmas present, maybe. :) It’s actually more complicated than it sounds, with the kids using dice to help determine how many words to write and coins to keep track of the words used. Together the kids write a story. The beginning sentence “Happy Birthday, Robot!” is just the example used throughout the book; once the kids are comfortable with the system, you can use any three-word sentence to start the next story. I really think the teachers are going to like this!
